Sponsorship Program

EMANA´s Sponsorship Program has expanded to include the children participating in local after school program, CEREIMI, who daily feed the children living in the barrio Lincoyan. In sponsoring a child, we ask that you pray for that child each and every day, and that you communicate with your child through cards and letters. We at EMANA have the capability of translating your letters to the sponsored child, and we will translate the child's letters which will be sent to you. Once you have sponsored a child, a photo of the child along with biographical information will be mailed to you so you may begin including them in your daily prayers. We always encourage our Sponsors to remember the children on their birthdays and on special holiday occasions; but, we ask that you do not send monies as their home situation is very complicated. If there are special needs within the family or if the child has special needs, EMANA will communicate that need to the Sponsor.

Project Cereimi ("CEREIMI-Advance Number 09751A"). The Infant Integral Recreation Methodist Center (CEREIMI) operates at the Second Methodist Church of Iquique (Lincoyan #1807). This center opened their doors in 1990 to serve children in economic distress that live in this surrounding barrio. This center is staffed by a director, a cook, two aides and a cook. CEREIMI also provides professional support to the approximately 40 children who are a part of this program. Tutoring and focusing on the emotional needs of the children is a great part of the project. Programs are planned to awaken the children's creativity and space is given so they may express their feelings, gain self esteem, and learn how to relate to others in their society. For the children, this center is a "tree" like shelter that covers and protects them and gives them identity...it is where they feel they belong. CEREIMI is where the difficulties in the lives of children are overcome by the hope and love of Christ. In each child's smile, we see the face of Jesus. MISSION AND EXPECTATIONS: Our mission is to reach children that are at risk. Giving meals to children in poverty, promoting psychological and biological growth. - Educational support to motivate them to stay in school. - Programs are developed with a Biblical emphasis. If you are interested in sponsoring a child for a year, you can do so by sending your check for $250 through your local Methodist Church and noting Advance 09751A Sponsorship Program or by sending your check, payable to Corporacion Metodista, and mailing it to: Corporacion Metodista, EMANA, Casilla 832, Iquique, Chile.
